LONDON - Specialist magazine publisher Future has launched a new free 16-page title to tap into the growing online games market.

What MMO - which stands for Massive Multiplayer Online - will be inserted into 150,000 copies of Future's PC computing and games magazines each month, including PC Gamer, PC Format, PC Zone and Windows Vista: The Official Magazine.

What MMO, which will also available as an e-zine, will include previews, details of the latest online updates and MMO community round-ups. The title will also promote Future's gaming events, such as the PC Gamer Showdown and the 26th Annual Golden Joystick Awards.

MMOs are based around virtual worlds, with players simultaneously interacting with each other. According to Future, the genre has experienced massive growth, with games like World of Warcraft attracting 10 million users worldwide.

Richard Keith, publisher for Future's computing and games portfolios, said: "PC gaming is in a massive period of change, with the way people buy, play and respond to games rapidly evolving. What MMO gives Future the chance to give more attention to the rapidly expanding MMO universe - allowing us to connect directly with players and advertisers alike."
