SHANGHAI - Hong Kong's Health & Lifestyle Broadcast Company will join forces with Shanghai Media Group's free-to-air Young Channel in Shanghai to co-produce a one-hour lunchtime TV show for the two cities starting 2 August.

The show will feature interviews with celebrities, plus features on trendy lifestyle and shopping hotspots in Shanghai and Hong Kong for visitors to and residents of the cities.

In Hong Kong, each programme will be broadcast on the Health & Lifestyle Channel on pay-TV platform i-Cable and Hong Kong Broadband, with three more repeats in the following day.

Robert Chua (pictured), chairman and founder of Health & Lifestyle Broadcast Company, predicted that the show would do well in Shanghai, where many programmes in the lunchtime timeslot are simply repeats.

He argued that the show offered an opportunity for advertisers to target across the two cities. "Advertisers in Hong Kong who are keen to capture the eyeballs of big spenders in Shanghai could place a 30-second as for as low as HK$10,000, a fraction of what they would have paid for in local terrestrial TV," he said.
