SHANGHAI - Cohn & Wolfe has appointed Jake Drake (pictured) to take over the role of president of Asia-Pacific, replacing Doug Buemi, who has transferred within WPP in Asia.
Most recently serving as president of GCI West in Los Angeles, Drake has worked within WPP companies for more than 15 years.
In that time he has helped to lead initiatives for global clients including Dell, Pioneer Electronics, Starbucks and Shell.

Based in Shanghai, he will report to Donna Imperato, chief executive officer of Cohn & Wolfe.
Drake pointed to the rise of the internet as the key challenge facing business PR, as it levels the playing field between brands.
The China market is so big and crowded that it demands big ideas, and with digital starting to dominate the communications landscape here, we have invested heavily in developing digital and social media strategies that focus on ideas that connect clients to the people who matter to them, he said.
Cohn & Wolfe recently merged with GCI Group. The company’s China operation has a business-to-business client list including Ford, Kellogg, Rolex and Hilton Hotels. The agency has also worked with international trade show CEATEC, the largest electronics show in Asia, for three years.
