Cadbury's raids soft rock archive for Gorilla/Trucks refresh
LONDON - Cadbury's has booked a three-minute slot at 10.30pm during tonight's 'Big Brother' final to show both its 'Gorilla' and 'Trucks' Dairy Milk ads, remixed with new music by Bonnie Tyler and Bon Jovi.
A year after the gorilla first appeared on screens during the live final of 'Big Brother 8', he will exercise his drumming talent along to Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'.

Following this, the airport truck race will be shown with Bon Jovi's 'Living on a Prayer' replacing the original soundtrack, Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'.
Cadbury's plans to continue showing the ads after tonight, over an eight-week period taking the campaign up to Christmas.
Phil Rumbol, marketing director at Cadbury, said: "After 'Gorilla' and 'Airport Trucks' premiered we were amazed at how many remixes they inspired and how many fans set up groups on websites like Facebook.
"Taking a cue from the fans, 'A Glass and a Half Full Productions took to the editing suite to produce its own remixes...We're sure the new productions will prove just as popular as the originals and raise just as many smiles, but only time will tell whether 'the Dairy Milk effect' works its magic on Bonnie and Jon and sees them rocket up the charts like Phil Collins last year."

Utterly pointless.

Dad at the disco springs to mind. Anyway, how are they going to synch the drumming with a totally different track?
Jake Bickerton - 05/09/2008
The original version of the Trucks ad used Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer, so I guess that was an easy choice...

Really disappointing and discredits the original Gorilla ad, which was fantastic. It all looks a bit crap now, and the editing rubbish.

Disappointing gorilla, much improved trucks. There's a sentence I never thought I'd write.

Have you seen the brilliant new Sony mash-up ad on TV at the moment? Guinness have done one too - it's quite this season's thing: www.ideasbrothers.net
