Woolworths launches seasonal push

LONDON - Woolworths will launch a major campaign this month - its first since relaunching as an online brand in June.

The campaign centres on two Laurel and Hardy-style snowmen, Stan and Ollie, and carries the tagline: 'Back online with more toys than Santa.'

The push, created by The Brooklyn Brothers, comprises a range of TV ads highlighting the Christmas must-have toys and press ads directing consumers to the Woolworths range. 

The snowmen also feature in online ads, Facebook activity and an online photo diary. All digital activity was created by Glue London.

Stan and Ollie will also be making a series of personal appearances around the UK.

Families will have the chance to win £300 worth of gifts, delivered by the characters. To enter, consumers must choose items to the value of £300 from the site and say why each would make every member of their family smile.

Woolworths was acquired by the Shop Direct Group in February 2009, and has had more than 4m visitors since its relaunch.
