How do you off-set your carbon footprint?

Sadly, my footprint's too big to offset.

Greatest influence

Any person or brand that has managed to turn chicken shit into chicken salad.

Clubs

The Hospital and Soho House.

Favourite gadget

My car.

Desert island objects

My car, my house and Virgin Atlantic.

Most-admired politician

Are there any that can be admired.

Favourite media

The Daily Telegraph on Saturday, Vanity Fair, Heroes, Heart. BBC five-day forecast.

Biggest risk taken

Squaring up to a room full of people from a major US studio in their LA boardroom and not backing down. It paid off, fortunately, but my suit had to be dry cleaned.

Perfect day

Early morning run, beach, sundowners, dining al fresco, going to bed with the sound of the waves.

Who should play you in the film of your life?

Julian Clary.

Career highlights

Launching Sex and the City in the UK for Channel Four and Nip/Tuck for Sky. Beating Capital to the number one slot at breakfast. It had a stranglehold for 30 years.

Fictional hero

JR Ewing.

Hidden talent

So hidden that I haven't found it yet.

Best job outside advertising

Delivering expensive cars to overpaid city traders, but always taking the long route to get there.

Lowdown

Despite having to endure a difficult August, when Davies' almost daily residency at Le Caprice was disrupted by the temporary closure of the restaurant, Associated's leading man-about-town continued to make his presence in the market felt. Decamping temporarily to Scott's, Davies continued his zealous promotion of MoS products such as the You and Live! magazines.

Most expensive purchase

Turning left for long haul.

Why are you good at what you do?

Get the bigger picture and good at motivating people to see it, too.
