MediaCom

Fantasy business partner

The people I've worked with for the long haul.

How do you off-set your carbon footprint?

Hybrid car, no long-haul flights and I love to recycle.

Greatest influence

Hard to pin down to one thing or one person, but my influences include Freud, Jung, Brent-Dyer, Woodman, Inanna.

Clubs

None.

Favourite gadget

Can I have the entire internet? Anyway, any gadget that I can access the web on.

Desert island objects

A library (especially including the full set of Nero Wolfe stories), E45, a boat.

Most-admired politician

Still living is Nelson Mandela. Uncompromising and courageous. Not many people really stand up for what they believe. From ancient times, it is Boudica, for similar reasons.

Sigourney Weaver (either as in Alien or Working Girl).

Career highlights

Growing MediaCom to number one.

Fictional hero

Buffy.

Hidden talent

Getting through locks (see above and below).

Best job outside advertising

Baking cakes. I've got a particularly light hand with a sponge.

Lowdown

The planning brains of MediaCom, Unerman makes sure that its ideas are fresh and saleable. She's more cultured than most at media agencies, but makes a point of trying to express herself in real world language rather than jargon.

Most expensive purchase

1967 Jupiter 30-foot boat.

Why are you good at what you do?

I never give up.
