LONDON - Uefa has unveiled the Warner Bros-developed official twin mascot of the Euro 2008 football championships, which will be jointly hosted by Austria and Switzerland, but are asking football fans to choose their names.

The twin mascots, which will make their debut at the Austria versus Switzerland friendly in Innsbruck on October 11, were devised by Warner Bros consumer products office in London under creative director Jay Young.

In promotional activity, Telekom Austria, the national supporter for the tournament, and McDonald's, will be inviting football fans to suggest the twin's names from a choice of Zagi and Zigi, Flitz and Bitz, and Trix and Flix, between September 27 and October 8.

Austrian and Swiss fans can cast their votes on the Euro 2008 website, at McDonald's restaurants in the two countries, or by telephoning a Telekom Austria hotline.

Uefa said that Kinas, the official mascot for the Euro 2004 championships in Portugal, accounted for 50% of merchandise sales for the tournament.

In June, Uefa confirmed that Adidas would continue its sponsorship deal for the European football championships until 2008, and would be official ball supplier for the Uefa Champions League until 2009.
