UK makes grade on Cannes Press shortlist

The United Kingdom has a strong showing in the final shortlist for the Press Category at the Cannes Lion 2007 advertising festival.

Seven agencies have managed to shortlist a total of 28 entries from an initial list of thousands.

DDB London is by far  the most shortlisted agency, with 14 separate entries for Marmite, Volkswagen, Harvey Nichols (for which it has nine separate entries) and The Financial Times.

The next most shortlisted UK agency is Saatchi & Saatchi London with six entries, three for Olay and three for Carlsberg.

Wieden & Kennedy's "St Wayne", the winner of both the Campaign Press and the Campaign Poster awards, is also on the list.

The remaining shortlisted UK agencies are Lowe London, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, Bartle Bogle Hergarty and JWT.
