Unbranded films are not permitted on TV which begs the question that ought such tactics be permitted on the internet or as a viral email campaign and also whether, once the new Consumer Protection Regulations come into force on 26th May, this will be legal? Advertisers really need to think about whether unbranded teasers are a sensible and ethical way to attract consumers in the future if we are t maintain the integrity of marketing communications.
