The Week: Advertising news - Heinz drops kissing ad
Campaign 27-Jun-08
Heinz has pulled a commercial for its Deli Mayo variant following a number of complaints from consumers to the Advertising Standards Authority.
The ad, by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, features two men kissing. The ASA has received more than 175 complaints about the spot. A Heinz spokesman said: "It is our policy to listen to consumers ... The ad was intended to be humorous and we apologise to anyone who felt offended."

The ad was due to air for another four weeks.
However, Heinz's move to drop the ad has led to the gay rights group Stonewall to call for a boycott of Heinz products.
