Paul O’Donnell, chairman, EAME of OgilvyOne Worldwide, added: "We are sorry to see Mike go, he has made a huge contribution to this agency, and we wish him all the best in his new endeavour.
"Meanwhile, it is very much 'business as usual’ here for both our clients and our staff. Our talented and long-serving senior management, led by Annette King and Sam Williams-Thomas, will ensure that the agency will continue to run as smoothly as ever."
An announcement concerning OgilvyOne’s new management structure will be made shortly.
Dodds replaces Amanda Phillips, who resigned as Proximity chief executive earlier this week.
Her departure came four weeks after BBDO announced plans to merge Proximity with Craik Jones.

Goood luck Dodds, as I would have said about anyone taking on this role. However breaking news Proximity: We're entering into a new world which requires fresh thinking and bold ideas. Clients are demanding more and yet Agencies are slow to see the warning signs in their own world. There is an Agency that will really crack the integrated route and then words like media neutrality , 360* degree thining will be exposed as nothing more than unfulfilled promises. We are also going to see a seismic shift from a procurement approach to appointing Agencies combined with a move away from HR assuming a pivotal role in the selection of key agency heads. Two disparate observations but ones driven from a more intuitive school of thinking which will rise to the surface in the coming months. The new wave is new fresh and exciting and those of us prepared to catch it will ride the a new tide of success.
