LONDON - CDMS/Transactis, a data-driven DM specialist, has appointed former Dunnhumby director David Steele as its chief executive officer

Steele, who has 15 years' experience in the loyalty marketing sector, was most recently managing director of retail at DM specialist Dunnhumby in the UK, leading its commercial relationship with Tesco, and general manager of its Ireland operation.

CDMS, which recently strengthened its data credentials by acquiring Transactis, has been on the hunt for a new CEO following the departure of Stephen Clark.

Steele said: "We are determined to leverage the new group capability to maximum effect and help our clients, existing and new, to win in their respective market sectors.

"At a time when organisations are fighting for the attention of the consumer and marketers are challenged with delivering ever more successful campaigns cost effectively, partnering with a reliable, proven and award winning service provider will be critical."

CDMS/Transactis provides clients with data and direct marketing services to help them accurately target existing and prospective customers.

Its services range from sourcing, conditioning and cleaning data and providing prospect pool and customer database management, analysis and insight, to executing direct marketing campaigns.

CDMS/Transactis's clients include Betfair and Shop Direct Group.
