Nielsen/NetRatings launches digital audience measurement service
LONDON - The digital industry will be better equipped to measure the audiences of digital and video content following the today's launch of SiteCensus Streaming.
The independent measurement service, provided by Nielsen/NetRatings, measures how many users are viewing online video and audio and how much is actually consumed.
Nielsen/NetRatings claims the product meets the online industry's need for independent, comprehensive and accurate measurement of streaming traffic on a site.

It will help advertisers and publishers gauge audiences as the simple "page view" mechanism becomes a less relevant guide to user behaviour. The system identifies a unique viewers location and the browser and operating system being used. This will help advertisers decide where to place ads and how frequently to show them.
