Google moves towards universal search
CALIFORNIA - Google has hailed developments of its search engine as a big step towards realising its goal of universal search.
The search giant has worked to make videos, images, news, maps and books available through one search through one search.
The company intends to phase in its new developments gradually.
The company also announced today that it has upgraded its ranking system. Google users are also being invited to test new products through Google Experimental, a site set up to gain feedback on new concepts in search.
