Beck's launches iPhone app to help music fans find gigs
LONDON - Lager brand Beck's has released an iPhone app designed to help music fans find live gigs when they're out and about.
The free Gig Finder app, a mash-up between Google Maps and Last.fm, lets users search for gigs in their area.
The app provides consumers with venue information and details on individual artists, as well as access to YouTube clips of the band's music videos and live performances.

Users can email the information to friends, but cannot purchase tickets through the app.
Beck's joins other alcohol brands including Carling and Absolut, which have also experimented with iPhone apps. However, its offering is aimed at providing consumers with a useful service rather than a pub diversion.
