Sky Sports signs eScala to front forthcoming line-up

LONDON - Sky Sports has turned to a group made famous on ITV to promote its upcoming football and live season of sports.

The broadcaster has signed up Britain's Got Talent contestants eScala to perform on a trail for the coming season of sports, which includes football, Ryder Cup golf, the British Lions rugby tour of South Africa, cricket's Ashes Series and the Rugby League World Cup. The string quartet will perform their track ‘Palladio' on the promo.

The group will the latest in a series of high-profile musicians who have featured in Sky Sports promos in recent years.

In 2003, Are you Ready by Elton John was used, while in 2005, Oasis track The Meaning of Soul was the soundtrack to the new season. Simple Minds' Alive & Kicking, Queen's One Vision and Rachel Stevens' version of More, More, More have also been featured.

eScala made the final of Britain's Got Talent in June. The all-female quartet was signed up a recording deal by judge Simon Cowell's label SyCo Music.

The group is set to release its debut album this year.
