DFS 'winter sale' by Uber
This commercial tied for third place for a single ad with the highest recall in any particular week in the 51 weeks to 31 October 2007, according to Marketing magazine's annual Adwatch of the Year.
It achieved a 75% recall in a single week according to Adwatch, which based on a survey of 1,000 adults. Click here to see the survey.
Across the entire year, DFS commercials achieved the ninth highest ranking of any brand in the Adwatch survey.
This particular DFS ad, which achieved a 75% recall, shows family and friends sitting on sofas, to the tune of "Let it Snow."

Two commercials were created and aired together, one of which featured the families and products in animated "winter" themed surroundings, the second one in more traditional "home" settings - the music 'Let It Snow' was the link between the two commercials.

ARGH!!!!! Sofa ads make me want to shoot myself. I'd love to have a crack at one... couldn't do any worse!!!!!!! I bet the agency thinks that it's all you can do with sofas... and the client keeps them in a creative box. Rubbish. DFS - brief your agency to come up with an idea....... this is dross. EVERYONE KNOW YOU SELL SOFAs - so try and stand out for once, come on... it's not as scary as it sounds!

And don't think that Eskimo skit is an idea.... it's more predictable than an Iceland ad.
