Spoofing can go either way, in the case of the PG tips advert, it went very wrong in my opinion and in this case, I love it. Simple, enjoyable and who doesnt like the theme tune to the Great Escape?
Nicely observed and made me laugh. Will probably get 100 complaints to the ASA from farmers upset at being portrayed as Nazi stormtroopers.
Charmingly executed. Clear message. Especially like the pitchforks.
At least the cow makes it, just wish for once Steve McQueen did.
Shame it didn't break before the recent McDonald's campaign as hearing that theme tune has bought back some terrible flashbacks. Having said that I do like it I can see how it'll appeal to pro 'free range' consumers (one of which I am I'd like to add). I'm considering reappraising my choice of butter right now...
Unlike MacD's though Anchor end with a nice uplifting key change and addition of the percussion, co-insiding with Mr Cow's take-off and great escape. So doing, the audience is left emotionally upbeat - and thinking positive thoughts about Anchor...butterrilliant!
good bg tune, upbeat mood and positivity but message the ad wants to portray is not so clear.
Sorry, done in the 80's by BBH for Asda I think. But hey, who cares, at least it's a bit of fun!
Everyone uplifted by Great Escape theme....Ed and Dave clearly very good at what they do...worried about prospect of a series of related ads though eg sheep tunnelling out etc
