Bureau quits CNET to be digital entrepreneur
LONDON - Tom Bureau has quit as MD of CNET Networks UK, stepping down at the end of June. He announced his resignation to staff earlier this week.
Bureau said he is in a number of long-range discussions with various investor groups and private equity companies. He added that 'the UK digital market is extremely interesting, and that digital will be at the heart, or a major part of any new venture'.

Bureau has steered the company from a single business information site to the UK’s biggest online-only publisher. Its five web sites draw a 31% share of the total UK online population (comScore MediaMetrix, March 2007).
Jill Orr, currently head of consumer media for CNET Networks UK, will take over as MD, reporting to Adam Power, president, international media at CNET Networks Inc.
Orr joined CNET Networks in 1998 as business development director for Europe. After five years she moved to head up product development for the UK business, leading the re-launches of silicon.com and ZDNet UK in 2003. Orr was appointed head of consumer media in 2005 and launched CNET.co.uk and gaming site GameSpot UK.
CNET Networks UK sites include: CNET.co.uk, GameSpot UK, silicon.com, ZDNet UK, and atlarge.com.
