Piczo aims to empower teens worldwide to express themselves and share ideas and experiences with their friends in a safe online environment. It will continue to be run as an independent site as part of the Stardoll Network.
Mattias Miksche, chief executive of Stardoll, said the overall aim of the company has not changed, and it still aims to create places online where girls can have fun, learn, and make friends from all over the world in a safe environment.
He said the creation of the network will allow brands to interact with the teen demographic in a more engaging manner.
"On Stardoll we have offered integrated experiences within the game and the world of Stardoll that really adds something to the user experience. We want to do with more integrated and engaging advertising on Piczo as well," he said.
