Future shopping: 3D body scans and clothes that fit
LONDON - A UK fashion company has developed what it claims is the world's first online tailoring service that features a 3D body scan that creates clothes to fit people's unique body shape.
InnovaClothing has developed software using body scanners, which capture a 3D image of a customer to produce tailored clothing.
The service, which launches today, requires customers to undergo a personal consultation in Glasgow, where the company is based, followed by a scanning session, although there are plans to roll out the service to new locations over the next two years.

After their scanning session, customers can log on to Innova's e-commerce site where they can view clothing collections, get personalised style advice from Innova image consultants to choose a cut and colour that will suit, before placing an order.
Designers Deryck Walker, Niki Taylor at Olanic and Kerry Nixon of Vidler and Nixon have contributed launch collections, and the range will expand to maintain a trend-led offering.
Code Computerlove, which is a stakeholder in the business, developed the technology behind the system and built the e-commerce site.
