Burger King brings augmented reality to the banner
LONDON - Burger King has become one of the first brands to create an augmented reality banner ad, promoting its $1 cheeseburger in the US.
Augmented reality has so far mainly been the preserve of mobile apps and websites set up to show off the technology. But the burger chain has launched a US augmented reality banner campaign promoting its $1 value menu.

The banner tells the viewer to hold up a $1 note to their web cam before a range of sandwiches appears to replace the note. It then superimposes the Burger King character's face on to the user's.
The campaign was created by Crispin Porter Bogusky in the US, the agency behind much of Burger King's online work over recent years including a recent lie-detector test and the famous Subservient Chicken campaign.
The latest campaign can be tried-out here if you have a $1 bill.

Hi Revolution journos: "The banner tells the viewer to hold up a $1 bill to their web cam before the dollar bill appears as the sandwiches on offer for the paltry price." Could we have that in English please?
