Hasbro brings board games to the iPhone generation
LONDON - Traditional games Connect 4, Battleship and Monopoly are set to enjoy a new lease of life on the iPhone.
Created by EA Mobile in partnership with Hasbro, the games join Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition, Yahtzee, Cluedo, Risk and Trivial Pursuit in the mobile world.
Up to four players can compete in Monopoly Classic via wifi, and the dice are rolled by shaking the iPhone. In Battleship players view a board based on the traditional gameplay and features various animations when ships are hit and sunk.

Prices have not yet been released for the games but the digital versions are likely to be much cheaper than the physical box set and players are not reliant on the availability of friends and family.
The games are the latest product of a 2007 deal between EA Mobile and Hasbro, which gave the game maker full mobile rights to the classic games.
In Septemebr, Hasbro teamed with Google to release Monopoly City Streets, which lets players buy every street in the world, build virtual buildings and charge rent. The site crashed on launch day due to its overwhelming popularity.
