Xbox Lips: karaoke game released through social media
LONDON - Xbox is pushing the launch of the latest version of its latest Lips karaoke game by transforming Facebook members in to pop stars.
The campaign backs the launch of Lips Number One Hits - a new game that features tracks like 'Barbie Girl' by Aqua and 'More Than Words' by 1980s hair metal act Extreme.

The Facebook app has been created by AKQA and is hosted on Xbox.com. It uses facial recognition technology and the Facebook Connect function to make it appear as if a Facebook member's family and friends are singing along to the karaoke tracks. Users choose a song, select the photos they want to use from their Facebook photo albums, add singing lips to people's faces and then create the animated, personalised music video.
It can be previewed and shared with the people in the video as well as via the user's Facebook profile.
Michael Flatt, director of advertising at Xbox EMEA, said: "Lips is all about fun, sociable, shared singing experiences. With Lips Jukebox, AKQA has created a brilliantly unique, naturally shareable extension of that, which we believe will bring the part of playing Lips to a wide and varied audience."
The release of Lips was backed up on Facebook
