The customer publishing house won the pitch in a shoot out against Seven Squared. John Brown has held the account since 2007, after winning the contract to produce the quarterly title through the Association of Publishing Agencies' Ask service.

The RBS Group also publishes its Private Banking, Business Sense, and Commercial Sense magazines through John Brown. The banking group would not confirm the appointment.

John Brown and Seven Squared were both unavailable for comment.
