LONDON - Auto Trader publisher Trader Media Group has appointed former Sky online director, Dominic Collins, to head its new-media activities.

Collins, who will assume the role of group director of new- media, will be responsible for digital products, delivery and innovation across the group, as well as the strategy and management of all its websites.

Prior to joining TMG, Collins was director of online products and services at Sky, where he was responsible for product management, search, business intelligence and marketing across all Sky's websites, including the portal and services supporting Sky Broadband.

Before Sky, Collins worked as a commercial director at mobile and e-mail marketing company Buongiorno, and as group ad director at the National Magazine Company.

Collins will be reporting to John King, chief executive at Trader Media Group, who said Collins' "wealth of experience working in the media industry will bring huge benefits to the group".

In February, Auto Trader moved to broaden its advertiser base with a title relaunch and a £15m ad campaign to arrest declining circulation. This included a new-look front cover, changes to editorial content and a revamp of its website.
