Direct Line was crowned the best inhouse team, while Symantec won inhouse international team of the year.
The young communicator of the year awards went to Insight Public Affairs' account director Olly Kendall (agency) and Marketing Birmingham's PR executive Emma Ward (inhouse).
PRCA director general Francis Ingham said the level of entries this year showed the increased recognition of the cost effectiveness of PR as a comms tool.
‘While previous recessions hit PR very hard, our budgets this time have fared better than other areas of the marketing mix,' he said.
