Mischief, Weber Shandwick and Threepipe scooped three awards each at last night's PRCA awards at the Marriott Hotel in Mayfair.

The agencies' winnings included campaign of the year for Mischief's work with Dogside.com, international and specialist consultancy of the year for Weber Shandwick and small consultancy of the year for Threepipe. Eulogy won medium consultancy of the year and Lansons Communications won the large consultancy of the year.

Direct Line was crowned the best inhouse team, while Symantec won inhouse international team of the year.

The young communicator of the year awards went to Insight Public Affairs' account director Olly Kendall (agency) and Marketing Birmingham's PR executive Emma Ward (inhouse).

PRCA director general Francis Ingham said the level of entries this year showed the increased recognition of the cost effectiveness of PR as a comms tool.

‘While previous recessions hit PR very hard, our budgets this time have fared better than other areas of the marketing mix,' he said.
