Play.com answers purehmv with own-brand credit card
LONDON - Online home entertainment retailer Play.com has followed up on HMV's launch of the purehmv loyalty scheme by creating a Play.com credit card.
Play has signed up with Visa for the card, which will enable holders to collect points through spend that can be redeemed with the retailer.
One 'Playpoint' will be awarded for every pound spent with any retailer and two points for each pound spent with Play.

Additionally 1,500 points will be handed out for purchases of £150 within 90 days of the account being opened. Under the scheme a £12.99 DVD is available for 24 points.
Purehmv launched last week and costs £3 to join while awarding 100 points for every pound spent. The retailer has used its leading position within the home entertainment market to obtain various exclusive rewards including a 'Guitar Hero' branded Gibson guitar (350,000).
