London voted the second best city brand after Sydney

LONDON - London ranks behind only Sydney among the world's best cities, according a survey of 10,000 people in 20 countries. Australia's biggest city is still benefiting as a brand from its successful promotion prior to and during the 2000 Summer Olympics, according to the Anholt City Brands Index.

Respondents were asked to rate cities on a number of attributes, which were factored in to the overall score. While London performed strongly in economic potential, international status and a vibrant urban lifestyle, with lots of interesting activities for visitors and residents, survey respondents had reservations about its accommodation, physical attractiveness and the friendliness of its people.
