Standard Life to shift ad account

Standard Life has parted company with Saatchi & Saatchi due to a conflict of interest with the agency's £15m AXA account.

Saatchi & Saatchi claimed its AXA workload has increased in the two months since it won the brief, and its work for Standard Life was 'ad hoc'.

A spokesman for Standard Life said: 'We now plan to appoint an above-the-line agency solely focused on our business and strategy.'

Standard Life put its marketing strategy up for review following the appointment of Simon Gulliford as chief marketing officer earlier this year. He has responsibility for global strategy across the group's businesses.

Saatchi & Saatchi won the AXA advertising account in May, when the work moved from incumbent agency WFCA. It worked with Standard Life for three years.
