In this fifth series, the girls seem to have had personality transplants.
The gregarious harlot Samantha has fallen in love with Richard and turned into Glenn Close. Sweet, innocent Charlotte finds herself participating in a peep show with the first man who passes by. Sexy, fashionable, writer Carrie is not only pregnant, but also looks in desperate need of Trinny and Susannah to shoot her wardrobe designer. Carrie spends most of her time deliberating whether or not you only have two great loves in life.
She eventually decides to help the NY tourist office, by falling in love with the city instead. Ahh ... sweet (not).
Finally, just when you think there is no hope, the career-minded, hard-nosed Miranda confirms it by having a little bouncing baby boy, which melts her brain, leaving us with no sign of the cynical, witty repartee that we love.
If the girls are to succeed, they need to lose the new personalities (and the baby preferably), give us Blahnik, Galliano and Jimmy Choo in abundance and maybe then the ratings might rise for one last season.
