Six of the title's national sales team will move to Mediaforce. The other five, who have been with the paper for less than 12 months, need to re-apply for their jobs and their roles face possible redundancy.
The move follows Johnston Press's acquistion of the newspaper group in December.
All titles in the group - The Scotsman, Scotsman.com, Scotland on Sunday, The Edinburgh Evening News and the Herald & Post series - will now be served by Mediaforce.
The company already handles sales for the 270 other titles in the Johnston group, which include The Yorkshire Post, Peterborough Evening Telegraph and Portsmouth News.
Lawrie Procter, Mediaforce's managing director, said there were no plans to change any existing trading arrangements, but a dedicated national press team would be created for The Scotsman.
Michael Johnston, The Scotsman's managing director, said: "We believe that it makes sense for these titles to now be included with the rest of our portfolio in one central sales operation.
"This will allow us to resource the titles far more than we could in a standalone situation and, most importantly, our customers will now have the opportunity to buy the entire Johnston Press portfolio through one central point."
