Seatwave chooses OMD and Kinetic for £1m media account

 

LONDON - Seatwave, the UK's largest fan-to-fan ticket exchange, has appointed two new media buying agencies, OMD UK and Kinetic, to handle its £1m media account.

Omnicom's OMD will take responsibility for media buying, helping to drive traffic to the Seatwave site and increase brand awareness. Kinetic will take on all outdoor buying activity across the UK, including poster buying and live events.
The appointments complete Seatwave's agency roster following its appointment of creative agency M&C Saatchi in April this year.
Seatwave entered the secondary ticketing market, currently worth around £1bn in the UK and between £3.5 and £5 bn across Europe, in February 2007, with the aim of offering consumers a more transparent and safer way to buy and sell tickets.

The company has called on other secondary ticketing agents to clean up the industry and recently gave evidence in a Select Committee Inquiry into ticket touting.
