GMG Radio appoints Sarah Bellamy as first director of digital media

LONDON - GMG Radio has appointed Sarah Bellamy as its first director of digital media to ensure enhanced content for the group's station websites.

Bellamy, who joins the company in September and will be based in Manchester, will report to GMG Radio's newly appointed commercial director, Stuart Taylor, who also joins in September from Guardian News & Media where he is currently commercial director.

GMG Radio has grown rapidly in the last eight months and now has 11 stations in its portfolio, set to rise to 13.

Late last year it bought two Century stations from GCap Media and later picked up Saga's four radio licences, rebranding the stations as Smooth together with two of its existing stations.

Bellamy joins from her position as commercial operations director of Endemol UK where she worked for seven years, latterly responsible for digital media and brand licensed products as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of Endemol's interactive productions, service provider and gaming and brand licensing. Previously she was managing director for Endemol Gaming.

John Myers, chief executive of GMG Radio, said the addition of Bellamy to the division's senior management team "underlines the importance we are placing on our digital and interactive future".
