Tiffany & Co sponsors Somerset House Ice Rink

LONDON - Upmarket jewellery retailer Tiffany & Co will be the first headline sponsor of London's Somerset House Ice Rink, which attracts more than 250,000 people over a 10-week period.

The association with the ice-skating venue, open from November 21 to January 27 2008, will reinforce Tiffany & Co's association with the festive period and gift-giving.

The retailer has five stores in central London and operates a direct sales and e-commerce business.

Melvyn Kirtley, president of Tiffany & Co in the UK, said: "Tiffany & Co has long been synonymous with the festive holiday period and gift-giving, and for this reason alone we are delighted to present Skate at Somerset House -- the most prestigious and very best ice rink in London."

The ice rink was launched in the winter of 2000, the year Somerset House was first opened to the public.

Somerset House also runs a series of summer events in its courtyard, including live music sponsored by Vodafone and film screenings sponsored by Film4.
