The website will run in conjunction with the Standard’s listings page, thisislondon.co.uk, and will feature reader polls and debates, campaigns, blogs, columns and news stories.
The paper’s trade website, esadvertising.co.uk, has also been re-launched after a makeover.
The announcement comes on the same day that the paper launched its new contactless Eros Loyalty Card at Waterloo Station. The card works like an Oyster card, and gives readers a discount on the Standard’s cover price, as well as five free iTunes downloads. Readers can order and top up Eros on the website.
Evening Standard editor Veronica Wadley said that the newspaper would be able to use the website to help raise the profile of its campaigns, and allow readers to join debates.
