Mike Moore, executive director of consumer markets at Telegraph Media Group, said the move was designed to maximise reach across digital platforms and that Carat would bring new expertise to the company.
The news comes after the group hired Barry Flanigan, director of marketing and communications at AOL UK, as marketing director. Telegraph Media Group has recently invested in several online brand extensions, including Telegraph TV.

Carat wins £9.8m Telegraph account
Telegraph Media Group has moved its £9.87m media account from Universal McCann to Carat, following a review led by the publisher’s consumer markets department.
