ITV.com secures online F1 rights

LONDON - ITV has secured rights to show the upcoming Formula One season online at itv.com, ahead of the new season that begins this weekend.
The deal means itv.com becomes the UK online home of Formula 1, supporting broadcast coverage on ITV1 and post-race highlights.
ITV will stream live simulcasts of the races online, along with video clips of certain practice sessions on the Friday before raceday, which are generally not broadcast. There will also be a 30-day catch-up service of ITV1's F1 coverage.

The online rights deal follows ITV's announcement of a broadcast sponsorship deal with Sony.
