Good news for Mail on Sunday as it jumps 3.6%

LONDON - The Mail on Sunday enjoyed a 3.6% rise in circulation between March and April to 2,292,717 copies, according to the ABC Sunday newspaper figures.

However, the newspaper's six-month average is down by 1.62% year on year to 2,259,385 copies.

The Sunday Express was down by 1.64% to 673,840 copies in April, while its six-month average is down by 11.81% year on year to 683,778 copies.

In the red-top sector, the News of the World posted a 0.82% decline to 3,192,419 copies, while its six-month average is down by 3.83% to 3,232,954 copies.

The Sunday Mirror reported a 0.04% drop to 1,338,352 copies, while its six-month average was down 2.35% to 1,343,175 copies.

Among the broadsheets, the biggest gain made in April was by The Sunday Telegraph, which posted a 1.79% rise in circulation to 636,719 copies. Its six-month average is down by 3.74% year on year to 630,162 copies.

The Independent on Sunday was the only other Sunday newspaper to increase its circulation last month, up 1.67% to 225,403 copies. Its six-month average fell by 4.35% to 217,272 copies.

The Sunday Times posted a 0.35% decline to 1,202,235 copies, while its six-month average fell by 4.18% to 1,200,127 copies.

The Observer was down 2.11% in April to 452,009 copies, but its six-month average is up 0.62% to 451,350 copies.
