MPGi hires Goodall to head UK division

LONDON - Havas agency MPG's international arm, MPGi, has appointed senior outdoor advertising executive David Goodall to the role of managing director in the UK, replacing Ian Rotherham who left for Omnicom Media Group last year.

Goodall, currently director of media and client services for PSI Advertising, a division of outdoor outfit Posterscope Worldwide, also has experience in the TV and radio markets and is due to take up the position in June.
Rotherham was head of international before leaving to run OMD's international Vodafone business in December.

Goodall's role at MPGi will include running the London office. The company also has offices in Paris, Madrid and Miami.

PSI Advertising focuses on media planning and buying in airports worldwide. Advertising at Gatwick and Heathrow is planned and bought by PSI Advertising, along with other overseas airports.

At PSI, Goodall ran global accounts for MasterCard, Emirates, RBS, Boeing, Procter & Gamble and Pernod Ricard. Prior to entering the outdoor sector, Goodall had a spell at ITV and several years' experience in commercial radio.

Marc Mendoza, managing partner at MPG, said: "He's not high profile, but a hidden talent. We won Credit Suisse last year and it's now about bedding that in. We've done that to an extent, but it's a massive piece of business and there's still a lot to do. In the second half of the year it will be more about trying to win some new business."

Last July, MPG landed the £60m global media account for Credit Suisse, beating Carat, Zenith-Optimedia and Mediaedge:cia. Interpublic agency Initiative had held the account since 2003.
Last month, MPGi hired Rubi Pabani as group account director to oversee the Credit Suisse account (Media Week, 15 April).

Pabani was previously an account director at Walker Media, where she worked on financial clients including HSBC, Barclays Wealth and Deutsche Bank.
