LONDON - UEFA, European football's governing body, is inviting brands to bid for the right to sponsor the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup over the next three seasons.

UEFA today launched an invitation for brands to submit offers for sponsorship rights packages in the automotive category.

Sponsors of last season's Champions League were Heineken, Sony, MasterCard, Vodafone, PlayStation and Ford.

The deal for an automotive sponsor would cover the Champions League and Super Cup over the 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons.

The deadline for the submission of offers from interested parties is Wednesday, 23 July.

The UEFA Champions League is watched by more than 140 million TV viewers each match week, watching in 230 territories.
