LONDON - The Independent on Sunday has slashed its cover price from £1.80 to £1 again.

The paper has cut its price to £1 on varying occasions over the past year, including in April this year and in June last year when it relaunched.

Following the paper's price cut during the last week in April, the IOS recorded a month-on-month circulation rise of 1.67% to 225,403 copies, according to the ABC.

However, the paper took its cover price back up to £1.80 in May and subsequently suffered a 10.86% month-on-month decrease in circulation to 200,920 copies.

At £1, the Independent on Sunday is now one of the cheapest Sunday papers, following The People, which costs 90p and the Sunday Mirror and the News of the World, which each cost 95p.

The Sunday Times costs double the price at £2, followed by The Sunday Telegraph and The Observer, which each cost £1.90, and the Mail on Sunday, priced at £1.50.
