LONDON - NatMags' April relaunch of Cosmopolitan.co.uk appears to have paid early dividends, with the site having increased its unique user base by 136% since last year.

According to NatMags digital arm Hearst Digital, Cosmopolitan.co.uk's pre-relaunch unique user base stood at 176,000 in October 2007, but had risen to 415,000 by May this year. During the same period, the site's number of page impressions has grown from 2.3 million to 5.1 million.

Extra features on the Cosmopolitan site include new editorial content and improved user interaction facilities, such as voting, rating and blogging tools.

Lucy Dryburgh, digital publisher at cosmopolitan.co.uk, said the new site had exceeded its expectations, having more than doubled its user base just two months after the October 2007 relaunch.

Separately, Hearst Digital announced that health and well-being consumer website Netdoctor has posted a 22% rise in unique users and page impressions in the last 12 months.

In March 2007, the site attracted 2.53 million unique users. This had grown to 3.08 million by March this year. Meanwhile, its page impressions have grown from 7.96 million to 9.98 million.

The ABCe figures are released as NetDoctor.co.uk embarks on a collaboration with Zest magazine, which will provide healthy living content on the NetDoctor.co.uk site.
