Dunning Eley Jones to rebrand The History Channel

 

LONDON - Dunning Eley Jones has been appointed to create new identities for The History Channel and a new channel, Military History, following a three-way pitch.

The project includes the development and delivery of a set of idents for The History Channel, as well as a complete on-screen package, including idents, for Military History.

The History Channel is a joint venture between British Sky Broadcasting and A&E Television Networks. At the start of 2008 it was rebranded in the US and renamed History.

A&E has provided all of its affiliates with a version of this new design package, however Dunning Eley Jones will be tasked with adapting the package to work in the UK.

James Pestell, marketing director at The History Channel, said: "It was important for us to choose an agency that we felt really understood the way our brands connect with viewers.

"Following a three-way pitch process, we decided to appoint Dunning Eley Jones and are now looking forward to working with them to create powerful identities for our two channels."

The new identities will launch later this year.
