Glasses Direct selects Platform-A for advertising campaign

LONDON - Online retailer Glasses Direct will use AOL's advertising business, Platform-A, to drive its sales and increase brand awareness.

Glassesdirect.co.uk will use two of Platform-A's advertising services in a campaign through one of its main networks, advertising.com

Glasses Direct allows customers to make online purchases with the help, advice and approval of registered opticians.

Platform-A will manage the display advertising campaign by building brand awareness through targeted activity on advertising.com's network of third-party publisher sites.

Consumers who have visited Glasses Direct, but have not made a purchase, will be retargeted across the network.

Brendan Condon, managing director of Platform-A International, said: "By working with Platform-A's leading advertising and affiliate networks, Glasses Direct will be able to expand its consumer reach, build brand awareness and drive sales."

Phil Gates, marketing director at Glasses Direct, said: "The combined weight of Advertising.com and buy.at will give us the reach, inventory and technology to engage high-volume audiences."
