Sport must look to video and mobile in order to provide that extra filip.
Despite 2008 hosting a multitude of major sporting events, sports websites are yet to display any significant growth. As a category, sport only ranks 19th for fixed-line internet users.
However, mobile sites are proving more successful, with sport ranking at number three (Q1 2008).

The power of video - Virgin Media Sport revamped in 2007 with video at the centre of its offering - and the rising mobile internet, could yet provide the gains that sport is losing to increasingly popular social media sites.
