Nokia readies giant digital poster campaign

LONDON - An outdoor advertising campaign for Nokia's new N81 model is set to launch on a series of giant posters owned by BlowUP Media, which include an LED screen showing live content.

On Monday 8 October, seven posters will be unveiled in key city centre sites, including the City Gateway in London, New Street station in Birmingham and Argyle Street in Glasgow.

The campaign, which was devised by MediaCom and Lowe, marks the launch of the Nokia phone’s new service, which allows users to upload new episodes of TV shows.

Every site’s LED screen will show different content, such as a countdown clock, karaoke tune or user-generated content. Consumers can text their name to a number displayed on the poster, and within minutes it will scroll along the front of the screen.

Of the seven poster sites being used by Nokia, one will belong to Ocean Outdoor.
