LONDON - The deadline for entries to this year's Guardian Newspaper Planning Awards, in association with Media Week, has been extended to this Friday, 27 June.

The awards recognise outstanding work by planners and clients, with campaigns that have run at any point throughout the 12 months ending 30 June 2008, eligible for entry.

There are seven categories in all, including best newspaper campaign under £250,000, best newspaper campaign over £250,000, and outstanding innovation in a newspaper campaign, either for a particular creative execution or campaign planning.

Other prizes are for outstanding use of consumer insight in a newspaper campaign, outstanding integrated campaign across newspapers and best use of newspapers in a multimedia campaign.

In addition, an overall Grand Prix will be awarded to one of the category winners. The winning client will receive £30,000 of space across Guardian News & Media properties, while the winning planner will receive a luxury weekend break in Paris for two.

The judging panel will be chaired by Maureen Duffy, chief executive of the Newspaper Marketing Association.

To enter, interested parties should submit a nomination form along with a written paper of no more than 1,000 words. For more information, visit www.guardian.co.uk/adinfo/planningawards
