LONDON - Lesley Mackenzie, former boss at Kangaroo, has been appointed chief executive of web TV business, Nettv247.com.

The company, founded by Ian West, vice-chairman of TopUpTV, plans to develop a range of internet and web TV businesses.

It recently launched its first venture, 123webtv.com, an EPG for internet TV, which has been running in trial format for nearly a month and is, according to the company, ready for expansion.

Mackenzie previously worked for News Corp at Tata Sky in India and BSkyB in the UK, where she was director of channels and operations. She has also purchased a stake in the business for an undisclosed sum.

West remains in his role at TopUpTV. Nettv247.com is a private interest and not connected to TopUpTV.

Ashley Highfield took over from Mackenzie as chief executive of Kangaroo on July 1.
